West Ham United and David Moyes snubbed the chance to sign talented Argentinian striker Julian Alvarez before he made the move to Manchester City.
The Hammers had a serious interest in the player when he was still finding his feet at River Plate but former Man United boss Moyes chose not to sign the talented striker and passed the opportunity.
One team’s loss proved to be another team’s gain with Manchester City identifying the talents of Alvarez and almost immediately signing him up and giving him a key role in the first team.
Their decision has already been vindicated and Alvarez is a household name now. Although not so much for Man City yet, the Argentinian is a World Cup winner at such a young age and has caught the eye of many people with his talent.

There is absolutely no doubt that Julian Alvarez has a very high ceiling in the game. He is destined to be one of the very best in his position and has ‘Sergio Aguero’ type vibes to him in the way he plays.
However, the presence of Erling Haaland means sometime down the line, Man City will have to choose between keeping one of the two. It depends on who develops into a better player by then and also who wants to stay.
Regardless, we can continue enjoying Alvarez for the time being and be proud of identifying his talent when an other club failed to do so and passed him on.
