Manchester City lost their second game in a row and third in last 4 games, one against Chelsea, another against Crystal Palace and the last being lost to the Foxes.
The team not only lost their hand on 1st position but also had to slip down to 3rd because of unwanted and unnoticed brilliance shown by Tottenham Hotspurs’ who have dominated last two games of their’s scoring 6 against Everton and 5 last night.
Pep Guardiola also respected and appreciated the performance Jurgen Klopp’s troop and Mauricio Pochettino’s side has put in. He said,
“They deserve it. They win games when we don’t win games. Last season we were so consistent and made a lot of points. They are both so consistent.
“Football is fascinating and unpredictable. You have to be humble, knowing every game is difficult. Last season, everyone said it was so easy, but I know how difficult it was.”
Manchester City had set a benchmark last season by winning 18 of their initial 19 games one ending all square but this time the team has not performed same way, losing 3 games already. He has realised the soul fact of hard work and said:
“In football, you have to accept it and work hard. It’s the only way I know. We have to work harder and try to change results.
After that, the confidence will be back and make a good recovery. In the end, the result is what counts—and we lost.”
What Pep Guardiola has to be mindful of is the fact that Liverpool are not only the threat now, so are Spurs.
