Manchester City are set to be involved in a transfer chain which will see their target Lautaro Martinez join Barcelona. But WHY would we give away our priority target, someone we think could fill in for Sergio Aguero? – Well, there is certainly more to it.
With lack of game time under Guardiola, Joao Cancelo is reportedly looking to move on from Manchester City and is linked with a move back to Italy. Meanwhile in the City of Milan, Antonio Conte is trying to get hands on some potential full back to boost his style of play at San Siro and has narrowed it up to Joao Cancelo.
And in other story, Barcelona are eyeing Lautaro Martinez and the Catalans will have to trigger the release clause of €111 million if they are to convince the Nerazzurri to sell services of their star ace. But with lack of liquidity financially Barcelona are looking to play their hand and create a transfer chain that could see them land Lautaro.
Let’s mix it all up now…
Manchester City are said to be interested in Barcelona full back Nelson Semedo, someone Guardiola thinks could fill in if Cancelo decides to leave in the summer. And the Spanish champions are looking to use the Portuguese full back as their ace in negotiations with Inter to land Lautaro Martinez.
Nelson Semedo is valued at about €50 million before the pandemic break and could be easily used as a swap for Cancelo. The former Juventus star would virtually replace him at Camp Nou before boarding the flight to Milan and help Barcelona sign Lautaro Martinez. This would help Bartomeu reduce the release clause of €111 million, with City and Milan happy with their incomings.
