Manchester City are reportedly set to offer new contracts with improved terms to their star players Rodri and Erling Haaland.

With striker Haaland already on a bumper contract, Man City officials are set to prioritize an extension for European Championship winner Rodri, whose current contract runs out in 2027. The Spaniard reportedly earns around £200,000 a week but the current Premier League champions are keen to bump it up to around £375,000 a week, a figure which the top stars like Kevin De Bruyne earn.

Negotiations shouldn’t be too difficult with the 28-year-old happy to stay with The Cityzens. The midfielder recently stated, “I’m very, very happy in England. I think I’m at one of the best clubs in the world, it’s obvious, and I’m happy. I have a three-year deal and, when the time comes, I will see…”

Rodri is arguably the best player in Man City and possibly in the Premier League. Earlier this year, City boss Pep Guardiola claimed that Rodri was the “best midfielder in the world” by far. The Spaniard has been crucial for City’s recent success. The midfielder has made 257 appearances for the Citizens, scoring 26 goals, many of them in decisive matches.

Erling Haaland on the other hand already earns around £375,000 a week but City want to reward him for his astounding performances in the Premier League so far. The Norwegian has scored 64 goals in 67 league appearances. Additionally, Haaland also broke the Premier League record for the most goals in a single season, having netted 36 times in his debut season at Manchester.

The 24-year-old’s contract ends in 2027 and City will be keen to extend his contract with improved terms to make him one of the highest if not the highest paid player in the Premier League.

The club have extended the contracts of Stefan Ortega and Scott Carson and will reportedly offer a new contract to Ederson, who looks set to stay at the Etihad Stadium following weeks of speculation about his future.
