Manchester City on track of breaking Premier League goals record.
The record of 103 goals was set by Chelsea in 2009/10. The only two other teams to score century of goals in a Premier League season are Man City and Liverpool, both in 2009/10.
The memorable 7-2 victory against Stoke City took their tally in their first eight matches to 29 goals, as many as they scored in the whole of Premier League 2006/07.
Pep Guardiola’s side, by continuing the current rate of 3.63 goals a match could end up the season with 138 goals smashing the record of Chelsea (103 goals).
However, a recent City side could set a pace that would set a record for the most scored in a Premier League season.
In Premier League 2011/12 Man City in their first eight matches scored 28 goals, but took their tally to 93 at end of season.
In 2004/05 The Gunners had 26 goals after eight matches, but added a further 61 in the remaining 30 fixtures.
The season is still young to conclude anything, but this team from Etihad Arena of Manchester is certainly looking worthy to achieve that feat.
