Manchester City take on Leeds United today and it would be interesting to see the key players from both these sides grind it out against each other. Let’s have a look at the possible key clashes in the upcoming game.

Helder Costa vs Kevin De Bruyne

In the absence of senior players like Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne has had to shoulder a lot of responsibility. Add to that the fact that his team now plays a more defensive line up and he has had to deal with the attacking details of the team as well in the final third. The Belgian’s job is certainly not easy and going into the next game after a humiliating loss against Leicester will surely make things difficult for him.

On the other hand we have a 26 year old Portuguese who has got a goal under his belt this season and someone who’d make life really difficult for the Manchester City defence with his searing pace and movement. Having represented his nation as well, the youngster definitely has the brains to execute a masterclass if things click for him in the upcoming game.

Illan Meslier vs Ederson Moraes

On one hand we have a goalkeeper who would fetch the largest sum the world has ever seen for a goalkeeper in the form of Ederson and on the other hand we have a 20 year old Illan Meslier with just 3 games under his belt as a full time player for his new team Leeds United.

This might not look as the clash of two titans but more importantly both these keepers have conceded quite a few goals in the early phase of the Premier League. Ederson has conceded 6 goals this season whereas Meslier has concede 7 although he did manage to have a clean sheet against Sheffield United. This would be a great contest to watch between the two keepers.

Jack Harrison vs Phil Foden

Phil Foden has seen a lot of great things so far in his young career which includes two Premier League titles and a U-17 World Cup win, the first one for England. This also led to him winning the award for BBC Young Personality of the Year. Having stated these facts, this season is going to be the one where he will need to really rub shoulders with the big boys in the Premier League having done so sporadically between matches last season. He is a kid who is really making a name for himself and all the eyeballs would be on how his career shapes up going forward.

On the other hand we have a 26 year old Jack Harrison who was once rated as an emerging superstar in MLS but has since been made to play on loan for Leeds United. Now how is this interesting? Well it’s interesting because his parent club is Manchester City and he would be raring to put on a good show come Saturday. Also talking about good shows against parent clubs reminds me of a certain Brazilian called Philippe Coutinho who did put on a show when last faced Barcelona playing for Bayern Munich.
