Rodrigo: An excellent performance by the defensive midfielder. He was composed on the ball and won most of his duels. However, he will miss Spain’s next game against Albania after picking up his second booking of the tournament.

Mateo Kovacic: Brilliant in the midfield. Passed accurately, created chances, and won his duels well. Unlucky not to see his country win.

Josko Gvardiol: A decent performance by the centre-back. Enjoyed a lot of the ball and was decent in defense. Albania’s late equalizer leaves them precariously close to a group stage exit.

GROUP C

ENGLAND VS DENMARK (1-1)

Kyle Walker: Another good game by the City right-back. Created England’s goal and completed his defensive duties diligently.

John Stones: Defended well but made some sloppy passes. Still looks a bit rusty.

Phil Foden: A better performance than against Serbia but still hasn’t shown his creative best. Hit the post with a good shot but wasted a chance by not passing to Harry Kane when he was through on goal.

GROUP D

NETHERLANDS VS FRANCE (0-0)

Nathan Ake: Defended well. He kept the big threat of Ousmane Dembele quiet and was decent on the ball.

Kevin De Bruyne: Captain fantastic. Created numerous chances, did his defensive duties well, and ended the game with a late goal. A much-needed victory for Belgium.

Bernardo Silva: An excellent performance by the winger capped off with a well-taken goal. Incidentally, this was his first goal in a major international tournament.
