Erling Haaland’s agent Rafaela Pimenta confirms plans are being made for the future of his client with Real Madrid being an interesting destination.
The news that Erling Haaland’s agent has admitted that plans are being made for the striker’s exit from Manchester City has caused a stir amongst the City faithful. The Norwegian international was signed by City last summer for a fee of £51m, ahead of interest from Real Madrid, but it appears that the lure of the Spanish giants may be too great for the young striker to ignore.
Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, spoke at the FT Business of Football summit in London and admitted that Real Madrid is a “dreamland” for every player, and that the Spanish giants still have a “magic” that players find difficult to resist, despite the riches of the Premier League.
These comments have only added fuel to the speculation surrounding Haaland’s long-term future at Man City. The striker’s father, Alfie Haaland, has previously claimed that his son will only stay at the Etihad Stadium for “three or four years at the most”.
Meanwhile, Manchester City have denied that there is any “Real Madrid clause” in Haaland’s contract, which is reported to include a £175m buy-out fee, but excludes any special reservation for the Spanish giants.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding Haaland’s future, Man City fans can take solace in the fact that the striker is currently committed to the club, and has been in sensational form this season.
Whilst Haaland’s potential departure is undoubtedly a blow for Manchester City, the club has shown in recent years that they have the financial firepower to attract and retain some of the best players in the world.
The likes of Kevin De Bruyne have committed their futures to the club in recent years, and City fans will be hoping that Haaland follows suit. However, with the lure of Real Madrid ever present, the Norwegian striker’s long-term future remains uncertain.
