The treble winners have convincingly made their way into the Round of 16 with 6 wins in 6 games. Manchester City has gotten a favorable draw as they face FC Copenhagen in the knockout stage. The latter finished above Man United in the group stage thus qualifying for the Round of 16.
Copenhagen is the lowest-ranked side left in the tournament but surely not the one to be discounted. In their 4-3 thumping over Manchester United, the Danish club showed a class of excellence and announced themselves on the big stage.
The Blues of Manchester however aren’t like their inconsistent neighbours. Pep Guardiola’s side has rarely put a foot wrong when it comes to the Champions League. Man City has been a shadow of themselves in the Premier League where they have found winning a little tougher than they usually do.
While Copenhagen wouldn’t be too happy with the draw, City on the other hand would find it a cakewalk if they successfully continue their momentum going into the knockouts.
The round of 16 will be played in 2 legs, the first being played at the home ground of teams that finished top of their group. The first leg will be played on February 13, 14, 20 and 21.
