Manchester City are one of the highest spending football club around the globe. According to reports, Man City have made the Paris-Saint Germain winger Kylian Mbappe their target for the summer.
This is not the first time Manchester City are linked with signing Mbappe. Pep Guardiola was one of many admirers last summer but the Ligue 1 giant snatched Mbappe from AS Monaco on a loan deal. The contract suggests that the French international will permanently join PSG this season with a transfer fee around £180 million. So, now making it really tough for the City club management to sign this youngster this summer.
Kylian Mbappe is known as a prolific winger who can play at both the flanks. He can also be used in a more central role as a forward for the sake of his side.
The 19-year-old was one of the key players of AS Monaco in the 2016-17 season. The youngster helped Monaco to win the Ligue 1 title and reach the semi-finale of the Champions League in that season. With his impressive performance for Monaco, Paris Saint Germain made Monaco star Mbappe their Premier target for the summer. Man City were also interested to get the youngster signature at that time. But PSG clinched the deal right at the end of the transfer window.
Kylian Mbappe has performed really well this season, making it much more difficult for Premier League champions to land Mbappe this transfer window. The winger has scored 13 goals and assisted in other seven goals for his side in Ligue 1. His finishing ability is certainly better than most of the forwards of his age. He can hold the ball and have ability of creating chances. That’s makes him so much important for Paris Saint Germain.
Pep Guardiola enquired about the availability of the player but PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is very much reluctant to let this player go. He said that a transfer fee of 1 billion also might not be worth taking Kylian Mbappe away from Paris Saint Germain.
Al-Khelaifi told Canal+: “You want me to give you a number? More than €1bn!
“Yes, I said one billion! And even if you gave me a billion, I wouldn’t sell him.”
City are still interested in Mbappe should he become available.
