Aymeric Laporte suffered a foot injury in the final minutes of City’s 3-1 win over Everton on Saturday and could recover in time to play the match against Liverpool. Long-term absentee Benjamin Mendy returned to training but is unlikely to feature for the match.
Sergio Aguero ruled out of Wednesday’s Champions League first leg clash against Liverpool with a knee injury, The Boss confirmed. Aguero has already rewritten many records this season and is only one goal shy to net his two hundredth City goal.
John Stones will face a late fitness test while Fabian Delph is expected to return.
The Reds look set to be without attacking midfielder Adam Lallana after he suffered a hamstring injury against Crystal Palace. Nathaniel Clyne was named as a substitute against Palace and may return after a back injury.
Joe Gomez sustained an ankle injury on international duty which forced him to miss Saturday’s league clash with Crystal Palace. Emre Can is a doubt with a back problem.
