The kick-off before the initial kick-off of the Premier League has arrived. Two Champion clubs of last season face-off each other in the preseason finale which is famously known as Community Shield Cup.
A highly-anticipated Premier League season will be a head on after seeing Liverpool vs Manchester City as a warm-up game, this Sunday. An intriguing season of club football awaits the call of Community Shield. Considering the same both would pick a strong side. We have seen City squad but what is more important is to see the way our compatriots will lineup:
At Wembley, one end of the pole will see Alisson Becker featuring around the nets who will join the squad after a laborious Copa America campaign. The presence of Alisson is a psychological headway for Klopp’s team.
The defensive line of Liverpool will mostly consist of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson. The experience of Matip and Van Dijk will handle the heart of Liverpool’s defence and the full back’s: Robertson and Arnold will enhance the attack with their assist-providing abilities.
The midfield position is possibly an area that Klopp would have to ponder upon. The trio that may feature in the finals on Sunday will be one of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and James Milner. Once again, experience comes into the picture. Jurgen Klopp if willing to win will surely place this three on the mat.
The Merseyside club has a lot of midfield options starting from Georginio Wijnaldum, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, Adam Lallana to Xherdan Shaqiri. This all may be benched for the game.
In the attack, the talisman Mohamed Salah maybe without his usual partner, Sadio Mane but will feature alongside Roberto Firmino and new comer Harry Wilson. Salah would start in his preferred right with Firmino in the center and Wilson a slight deeper.
Liverpool’s predicted XI (4-3-3) vs Manchester City: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson(c), Milner; Salah, Firmino, Wilson
